Elizabeth Howe, MA

Research Associate 1

Elizabeth is currently working towards her Ph.D. in early intervention leadership at the University of Connecticut’s Neag School of Education. Elizabeth has a BA in painting from Syracuse University and a MA in early childhood special education from the University of Colorado. She has worked in the field of early childhood since 1991. Her multiple professional roles include that of a classroom teacher, special education teacher, and a developmental therapist. She has experience working directly with young children and their families in community early childhood settings, the public school, and in Connecticut’s birth to three system. She is currently supporting the staff at UCEDD in their work with local school districts around the implementation of a teaching model that targets the social and emotional development of preschool children. Elizabeth’s areas of interest include exploring how to best teach and train early childhood personnel so they are able to employ the consistent use of evidence-based practices for working with young children with disabilities and their families.
