This project was funded through a grant from the Bureau of Maternal and Child Health, DHHS for three years, from June 2008 through May 2011. Funding for these projects was initiated through Family Voices, and technical assistance to the projects was provided by the national Family Voices staff. The Connecticut F2F project provided direct support and assistance to families with a child with a special health care need so that they could access appropriate health services and health financing resources. This project was a collaboration with FAVOR, Inc. (a family advocacy organization), PATH/FVCT, the Department of Public Health Title V program, the CT Family Support Network and the CT Family Support Council. The project employed six parents as Family to Family Health Information Specialists. These consultants provided one on one support to parents across the state. Additionally, the project provided training to parents and providers, and has developed a series of one page informational bulletins on topics related to accessing health financing resources.
