Connecticut Early Childhood
Intervention Leadership Academy

Purpose

The CT Leadership Academy prepares current and emerging leaders in
early intervention (Part C) and preschool special education (Part B/619)
to drive innovation, strengthen practice, and provide sustained leadership
across Connecticut’s early childhood intervention systems under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).


Core Leadership Competency Areas

Participants develop skills across three integrated leadership domains:

  • Foundational Leadership
    Self-knowledge, reflective practice, ethics, and professionalism
  • Operational Leadership
    Early learning systems, policy, regulation, and implementation
  • Strategic Leadership
    Communication, collaboration, planning, and systems change

Who Should Apply

This program is ideal for early childhood professionals who are motivated to make
meaningful and lasting change in early intervention systems, practices, and community-level structures.


Capstone Experience

The program culminates in a capstone project designed to produce a
real-world systems change outcome—advancing early childhood intervention practice, policy,
or cross-system collaboration within Connecticut.
