Developmental Disabilities Network
The Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act of 2000 (DD Act) authorizes the development of three state programs to ensure that individuals with disabilities and their families can access and participate in all facets of community life. Together these programs form the Developmental Disability Network (DD Network) in Connecticut.
- Connecticut Council on Developmental Disabilities
- State Councils on Developmental Disabilities engage in advocacy, capacity building and systemic change activities
- Disability Rights Connecticut
- State Protection and Advocacy Systems protect the legal and human rights of individuals with developmental disabilities
- University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service
- Provide interdisciplinary pre-service preparation and continuing education, community service, research, and information dissemination
