The Early Childhood Intervention Personnel Center for Equity is represented by a Nyansapo. Nyansapo meaning “wisdom knot”, is a symbol of the Akan people of Ghana symbolizing patience, integrity, and intelligence. It conveys the idea that a person has the capacity to choose the best means to attain a goal.
Our process focuses on engaging in the technical and adaptive work of implementing and sustaining systemic and institutional change in IHEs, Professional Organizations, IDEA Part C and 619 Programs to advance equity within the socio-cultural, political, and economic environments in the U.S. over the next five years.
We strive to increase the capacity of institutions of higher education and professional organizations and associations to prepare a racially, ethnically, culturally, and linguistically diverse generation of professionals.
